Refugee Transitions (RT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting refugee and immigrant families in becoming self-sufficient in the United States. We provide home-based services to help these families attain the English language, life, job and academic skills they need to succeed in their new communities. We currently offer our services in San Francisco, the East Bay, and the South Bay.
Refugee Transitions partners with Oakland International High School and Roosevelt Middle School to offer structured after-school tutoring support to help students with homework, language acquisition, academic skill-building and social adjustment. All students in these after school programs are English Language Learners. Most are low-income. Students speak over 20 languages and hail from over 40 countries.
