POSITION OVERVIEW Semiperm is an innovative not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, located on the Upper West Side that provides comprehensive opportunities for formerly homeless families to achieve self-sufficiency. The Childcare Volunteer is responsible for providing supervision to the children of clients who are receiving individual and group services.
DUTIES • Maintaining the safety of children while parents or caretakers are in a session • Planning and providing structured activities for children; i.e. arts and crafts, reading, etc. • Maintaining the children's play area; setting up and clean up of toys and activities
QUALIFICATIONS • Prior childcare experience desirable; preferably with babies, infants, and toddlers • Ability to work with multiple children of multiple ages at one time • Ability to coordinate structured activities with children • Positive attitude and strong work ethic a must • Good communication skills
