The National MS Society's Computer Outreach Program provides computers to those who are living with multiple sclerosis and are restricted to their own homes or are living in long-term care facilities. This unique program enables these individuals to remain connected to the world beyond their homes despite financial constraints that preclude them from purchasing computers or assistive technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Initial Impact: Computer Outreach Volunteer will assist people who are living with MS stay connected to the world through technology.
Training and Support: Initial volunteer orientation is provided along with staff and Chapter introduction and an overview of basic expectations. This position works closely with the Programs & Services staff: An It background is helpful but not required. A background check is required for this volunteer position due to travel into client's homes.
Commitment: Hourly commitments are flexible. Volunteers should be willing to follow-up with the recipients of the equipment on a monthly basis through email, website, phone calls, and/or Skype. Volunteers should expect to work with 2-3 clients per month.
