The School of St Jude is a charity funded school that provides a quality FREE education to approximately 1,500 primary and secondary children from the poorest communities in Arusha.
We are seeking a creative, energetic individual for our part time Publicist for the St Jude's 2013 Promotional Tour, based in Australia. As the Publicist you will be responsible for the coordination of promotional opportunities for our founders, Gemma Sisia and Kim Saville on their upcoming tours of Australia commencing in March 2013. The Publicist will need to gain media coverage in all cities and towns on the tour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile a database of media contacts
- Write and release press statements on behalf of The School of St Jude for print, television and radio.
- Using your network of media contacts, arrange interviews for Gemma Sisia and Kim Saville in conjunction with their tour schedules
- Provide regular updates on media activity
Requirements and Skills:
- Superior writing skills
- Outstanding communication and networking skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Additional Information
- This is a part time / casual role and hours are flexible, however, the successful candidate will be required to be available via phone for media coordination.
- The publicist will not be required to attend events or media interviews. The School of St Jude will cover any administration costs incurred.
- Gemma's tour of Australia begins in March 2013 and will finish in April 2013. Kim will arrive in Australia at the beginning of April and finish in May.
- The successful candidate would be required to begin preparation for the tour in January / February 2013 and the role would cease after a final media coverage report has been prepared by the end of May 2013.
