CALLING GRAPHIC ARTISTS!
A project-based volunteer opportunity to use your professional design skills to develop a community outreach brochure.
About Us:
Silk Road Rising is a Chicago-based nonprofit arts organization. We create live theatre and online videos that tell stories about America's Asian and Middle Eastern communities. Learn more about us at www.silkroadrising.org
Project Need:
From April, 23, 2013 through May, 26, 2013 we are producing The Lake Effect, a new play by Rajiv Joseph. As a community based organization, we create unique outreach materials to introduce our work to the ethnic communities being served. We are looking for a volunteer to design a brochure to introduce The Lake Effect to the South Asian community in Chicago.
About the Play:
In a depressed Cleveland neighborhood amidst a fierce winter storm, an Indian American brother and sister, long estranged, are reunited by the sudden death of their father. Enter their father's African American confidante and gambling bookie, and a slew of family secrets get unearthed. The Lake Effect sets in motion a complicated web of relationships and plot twists that challenge our perceptions of race, gender, and material success.
