Greater Wheeling Area Youth Outreach, Inc. "Dream Maker's Program" is looking for Volunteers for tutoring/mentoring youth
Mission: The Greater Wheeling Area Youth Outreach, Inc. (GWAYO, Inc.) is committed to empowering young people from lower income families with the opportunities, skills, and vision to achieve long terms dreams and goals.
Opportunity: We welcome college students, retired individuals, and anyone in the marketing field. We are looking for volunteers that will help us develop a marketing plan to promote our after-school program within the Latino business community and other potential corporate and non-corporate sponsors and/or donors. We will like to maintain a steady corporate and community funding within our organization.
Program Location: New Hope Community Church, 1023 E. Palatine Rd, Palatine IL 60074
Commitment: Volunteer a set number of hours per week.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Experience firsthand work of a small non-for-profit organization
- Develop and enrich your marketing skills in the non-profit sector
- Be involve in the set-up, running, and behind-the-scenes planning of the program & organization
Volunteer Duties:
- Develop a marketing plan to attract steady corporate sponsorship and donations
- Utilize different sources of communications such as social media, email telecommunications and direct mail to engage with prospective sponsors and donors
- Develop marketing plans for organization's recognition within the community
Qualifications:
- Experience in developing and executing marketing strategy
- Technical marketing skills/experience (i.e., web design, graphic design, etc.)
- Nonprofit experience a plus
- Able to work independently, proactive. A self-starter.
