Make a positive impact on a child in your city by becoming a reading or homework tutor.
Do you care about helping the next generation succeed in school and beyond? Do you find yourself wishing you could do more to improve education for all children? If so, we need your help! Center City Public Charter Schools is looking for committed volunteers for at least one hour every week to tutor our students!
We currently need volunteers to help with two programs starting in January until the end of the school year:
Reading Partners- Work with Reading Partners to help struggling readers. Tutoring will be held at our Brightwood Campus (6008 Georgia Ave. NW) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 11 AM. Tutors need to commit to tutor a minimum of 1 hour each week. For more information visit: www.readingpartners.org/about-us
Extended Learning Program- Become a tutor to help students with homework after school or help with Learn-A-Thon, an interactive learning activity. Volunteers are needed in the afternoons (around 4:15-6) at our 6 different campuses.
Bonus: There is a stipend provided at the end of the school year.
Qualifications:
We are looking for tutors who have experience or interest in working with children and a desire to improve educational opportunities for all children. Tutors should be reliable and professional.
