mount kenya children home is looking for volunteers to assist in the tasks at the orphanage

when you volunteer with us you have a chance not only to travel and experience the African culture but
also give something back to the community and put a smile on a needy
child. You will have an opportunity to play different roles and learn
new things at the same time.We have different programs which includes :
Children education whereby we take care of their school fees, uniforms,
stationery etc orphanage programs which includes providing shelter for
the children, food, clothing, and medical expenses. Orphans sponsorship
programs this is through finding sponsors for the children. We also have
agricultural program which helps to feed the home.

Besides the different programs we have numerous projects currently going
on eg environmental projects where we are planting trees to replace the
ones which are being cut down in the area to get timber for building. In
this case we are also trying to come up with a better method of building
eg use of bricks.
We also want to increase the number of children in the home, but since we
are short on accommodation space we are on course to put up a building
which will house more children. It's for this reason we have a ground
leveling project where we have already started leveling the building
site and we expect to finish at the end of this month.

At Mount Kenya children home we host our volunteers at the home. The
program requires a contribution of $ 110 per week per volunteer to cover
for accommodation, meals and administrative fees and also some will go
towards the current projects.
I have attached a copy of application form which you are required to fill
and return to us. I have also put a summary of the other costs like
accommodation in Nairobi in case your flight arrive late etc.

The entire process usually takes a few days, weeks or months depending on
your convenient pace of responding to us. So the first steps, kindly
complete the attached Volunteer Application Form and return to us.

In summary our costs are as follow:
1. US$110 - Volunteer Program costs per person per week which is used
for your food, Accommodation, as well as helping in the home.You will
also pay an adition of us$355 per person which will cover
2. $65- Transportation from the Airport to the City center
3. $25 - Hotel Accommodation (Bed & breakfast) - (if you arrive in Kenya
after 4:00pm)
4. $65- Transportation from Nairobi to the centre
5. $90 Transportation from the centre to Airport (departure)
