The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is actively seeking volunteer camp counselors for our upcoming Summer Camp. We are looking for people who want to give one week of their summer to a young person with muscular dystrophy. Volunteers must be at least age 18 by the first day of camp. Because of the nature of the diseases we cover, a larger number of male volunteers are needed. We also are looking for volunteer camp medical staff.
MDA Camp is a week long, overnight camp where youngsters with disabilities take part in activities such as canoeing, swimming, adaptive sports activities, arts & crafts and many other fun social events. We are in need of volunteers to be paired with each camper in order to ensure they have a fun, safe and healthful week.
The camp is located at Gold Coast Christian Camp in Lake Worth, FL. Volunteers will be needed from June 9th through June 14th.
Interested applicants should contact Elise Qvale at MDA at 561-742-3748 or eqvale@mdausa.org.
MDA is able to offer 140 hours of community service.
