EHN are looking to arrange some teacher training for Nepali teachers starting in Kathmandu, Nepal. We are looking for qualified teachers if possible with teacher training qualifications or experience to conduct training seasons for local teachers to take back to their respective schools.
Nepal has a developing education system and in allot of cases still teaches through repetition. We at EHN and some school principals we already work with think that changing this and improving the level of teaching would be one of the best ways to improve education in Nepal.
As this is the first time EHN has done this type of project we think that a week or two teaching in a school would give you a good idea of what needs improving. Then we would look to book a venue and invite a number of teachers from various schools in the area to attend a talk about how we (you) can help. After that we can arrange classes for you to teach the teachers the new teaching techniques for them to take back and show their colleagues.
Should this prove a success EHN would like to run these teacher training sessions out to the more remote regions of Nepal in the hillside farming communities!
Please note, this is a paying volunteer placement which EHN charge £10 or $15 per day plus an £80 admin. The bulk of the money you pay goes to the home stay you'll be living with and the rest on food and transport. All you need is enough to cover luxuries such as beer, chocolate, internet, laundry and some souvenirs. Everything else is covered by EHN including your airport pickup and drop off and a city tour.
We hope to run this project as soon as possible over a month or two depending on the volunteer'sand their available time.
If you're still interested please contact us for further details or find out more about EHN and who we are on the links below.
Many thanks.
