Assist credit union and community members in reading their credit reports, then make a customized plan to build or rebuild credit. The Credit Coach Program is hosted by Community Trust, a division of Self-Help FCU in West Oakland (directly across from the West Oakland BART Station).
As a community development credit union, Community Trust provides underserved individuals in Oakland the opportunity to enter the financial mainstream - often for the first time, build assets, and improve their economic situations.
Volunteer Credit Coaches will be asked to:
- Come in 3 hours per month.
- Complete a free training- 4 hours of classroom training followed by 4 hours of shadowing experienced Credit Coaches.
We are looking for individuals with:
- Credit experience, financial services experience, or a willingness to learn.
- Good computer skills.
