Kure It seeks a long-term, part time (20 hours weekly) volunteer to help us with communications to our current and future supporters.
Our mission is simple - we raise funds from the private sector and redirect the money, in the form of grants, to major comprehensive cancer centers. Our goal is to be the leader in granting funds to researchers working on the most promising, innovative projects in the fields of kidney cancer and other underfunded malignancies. Since being founded in 2007, Kure It has raised $1.6 million for research, awarding $900,000 in grants in the last six months alone. Currently, we are funding research at Cedars-Sinai, Oregon Health & Science University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USC, UCLA, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Our offices are located in Newport Beach, CA, conveniently located near the 73 freeway and Jamboree Road. Our office space is generously donated by US Storage Centers, which also supports Kure It financially through a variety of programs that generate funding for research (www.usstoragecenters.com). Kure It also receives support, and is heavily involved with, the national self storage industry.
This position would be responsible for composing press releases (approximately 2-3 per month), helping with special events, drafting forms/invitations/email blasts for special events and fundraisers, maintaining social media pages and posting engaging updates, composing and processing donor acknowledgements, and ensuring that the Kure It website is current and relevant.
