The Arab-American Family Support Center (AAFSC) a 501(c)(3) not-for profit, non-sectarian organization that was created in 1994 to serve the Arab immigrant community of New York City. The first and largest Arabic-speaking social service agency in New York, our mission is to empower new immigrants with the tools they need to successfully acclimate into the world around them and become active participants in their communities.
AAFSC is seeking a bi-lingual (Arabic) college graduate to provide basic financial education to survivors of domestic violence in our Brooklyn office. The financial literacy curriculum will be taught in the mornings, over the course of sixteen bi-weekly sessions (two months) to a closed group of up to fifteen women. The volunteer will receive support from program staff in our Adult Education unit and Project Manar, our anti-violence program.
