Literacy Inc. (LINC) needs a steady supply of books for its read-aloud events, which encourage children to read at home and at everyday venues, such as libraries, restaurants and parks. The children receiving the books will read their books outside the event, then return reading logs at the next event. This month, LINC plans to distribute up to 250 books and increase the aggregate leisure reading of participating children by 480 hours.
As a book drive volunteer, you should be prepared to:
- Decide the length of your book drive.
- Reserve a space (e.g., your office lunchroom, your child's school or your apartment lobby) for your book drive.
- Set up a bin for book collection.
- Transport your collected books to LINC's office.
LINC will provide you with:
- A book bin.
- LINC brochures.
- Book-donor contact slips.
