Descripción de la oportunidad de voluntariado

PROGRAM DATES: JULY 15 – AUGUST 25, 2013

Backpack with a purpose next summer with Operation Groundswell!

Dive straight into the heart of East African culture and history on this volunteering and cross-cultural educational program. Our volunteer projects focus primarily in Western Kenya. The nature of the projects depends on the requests of our community partners. Some examples of projects we have done in partnership with the people of Maragoli are: constructing a local bridge, building latrines for a technical school, working at a resource center, and running an intercultural women's political group. We work with the needs of the locals in determining the projects through a community meeting called abaraza.

As we always work on community-requested projects, our work is subject to change depending on the community's needs at the time we are there.

OG combines meaningful volunteer experiences with cultural exchange and off-the-beaten path adventure, which means you'll also get to explore the East African cuisine, culture, history, and geography. Get a glimpse of a sample itinerary of what you can expect from this OG trip to East Africa by clicking here.
