Ghana's forests are being wiped away at an extremely frightening rate. Like other African countries Ghana has lost about fifty (50%) percent of her forest over the past years. This has unfavorably exaggerated the climate in this area. However, its result in global warming goes further than the African continent. As a result of the climate changes ensuing mainly from the thrashing African forest, P.Y.V.O has initiated the conservation project in that restoring these forest volunteers are therefore needed to participate in the following activities.
1) Participants would educate rural societies about good environmental practices in other to save and protect the environment.
2) Participants would sensitize rural societies about good farming practices, good use of fertilizers not to jeopardize the environment
3) Participants would teach rural societies about ways of conserving our immediate environment (that is appropriate ways of throwing away refuge).
4) Participants would teach in rural schools in other to train in the pupils the value of trees and the need to protect the environment
5) Participants would help plant trees and pick seedlings
The itinerary is tentative. Our participant works for 6 to 8 hours but does not work on weekends. Weekends are for leisure time to visit tourist site. Participant has minimum of 1 week to maximum of 12 months of volunteering period and will stay with a host family or in volunteer house when it's a group.
