RefugeeOne seeks volunteers over 18 years-old to join our Mentoring Program. Mentors help newly arrived refugees to become self-sufficient through helping them overcome social isolation by creating community. Our Mentoring Program seeks to reach refugees on a personal level, pairing them a volunteer Mentor who can serve as a teacher, an advocate and a friend.
This volunteer experience is truly a remarkable exchange, for you will likely learn as much from your Mentee as he or she will learn from you! We expect Mentors to commit to meeting with their Mentee once a week, maintaining contact with RefugeeOne through monthly reports, and participating in occasional trainings. Since you will be developing a personal relationship, we ask that you be willing to commit to a minimum of six months.
