Milaap.org, a social enterprise in Bangalore is looking for Volunteers for their Writing Volunteer Program. To be a part of this program, the volunteer should have a flair for writing, excellent grammar and strong communication skills.
Milaap raises funds for people in need of micro-loans for basic needs like water, sanitation, lighting and vocational training. Milaap works with field partners who are typically NGO's & microfinance institutions that help Milaap to identify borrowers (loan applicants) who are in need. Due to lack of resources, the field partners are unable to present the borrower data as engaging stories that can be posted on our website.
That's where we need you to step in.The loan applicants data needs to be presented in the form of engaging borrower profiles like this one:http://www.milaap.org/borrower/Chinammal-Singaram. You will be responsible for writing such stories. The writing needs to be clear and persuasive. It should incite action and create awareness among the audience.
At Milaap, we like to work with the brightest and fun people that come our way. We are looking for dedicated folks who can spend 6-8 hours each week or 1-2 hours a day to help us write these stories.
You can be based anywhere in the world. You can work from the comfort of your home, bed, couch - anywhere. You just need to be able write the profiles online or write them and upload them.
Requirements:
1. Detail-oriented with flawless grammar
2. Passionate about writing
3. Should demonstrate a high degree of accuracy when writing, revising, editing or proofreading
4. Computer skills (extremely important!)
5. No Work experience required. College students can apply too.
6. An internet connection!
7. A commitment of 3 months at least.

If you're in India or travelling to India anytime during the volunteer program, we can offer you a field trip with the team. You can actually visit communities in rural India and personally meet the people who benefit from your contribution to Milaap!
