JASA's PETS Project aims to assist senior citizens living in Manhattan with tasks involving the taking care of their pets (dogs and cats). PETS Project volunteers assist clients primarily with dog walking and cat care (litter box changing, cat sitting, etc). The PETS Project is always in need of more animal-loving volunteers to assist our clients, many of whom are physically unable to perform some of the duties necessary to take care of their beloved animals. A short amount of time each week is all that is necessary to have a huge impact! One dog walk per week and/or one visit a week to help a client change a litter box can make a world of difference in helping a senior keep his or her pet! We hope you will join us in our effort to enrich and assist in the lives of cats, dogs, and their owners!
JASA (Jewish Serving the Aging) is the largest community based social service agency serving the elderly in the New York area. JASA provides an array of social services to New York area seniors with the mission of enabling the elderly to live independently for as long as possible.
