Volunteers will travel to the property of produce donors and harvest crops. Volunteers will then load food for transport to local emergency food providers.
Variable; Gleans take place on both large and small farms, and sometimes even in people's backyards. Gleans center around Wenatchee, Chelan, Entiat, & Leavenworth.
Gleaning events generally run between four and six hours long. However, while volunteers are encouraged to attend the entire event and participate in the celebratory closing snacks/treats, you will never be turned away for only being able to attend part of a volunteer event! Just let us know ahead of time and make sure to provide your own transportation!

About Community Harvest
Community Harvest, a program of Community Farm Connection, is a regional gleaning project in the greater Wenatchee Valley. Community Harvest's vision of a healthy, self-reliant community includes access to fresh, locally grown foods for every community member. Community Harvest helps farmers manage excess and/or un-marketable products and makes gleaned produce accessible to the local community through the region's existing emergency food providers.
