Job Description:
IEFT is looking for an energetic educator to volunteer as a Mathematics teacher at Orkeeswa. As a Mathematics teacher, you must be able to teach Form I through Form III courses.
- Provided with curriculum and resources, you must be able develop lesson plans, supplements to national curriculum and interactive projects designed to teach Orkeeswa students.
- The candidate must be capable of initiating after-school projects designed to provide hands-on learning, as well as leading extra-curricular activities.
- You must be able to work independently and collaborate with a team of international volunteers and local staff.
Qualifications:
- At least 21 years old
- Hold a bachelor's degree and/or have experience teaching in a classroom
- Have a strong command of the English Language, preferably native speakers.
- A one-year commitment, starting as soon as possible is preferred
- You must have the willingness and ability to be flexible and to cope with challenging living and working conditions in a developing country.
- Applicants must be able to live and work with little or no running water, unreliable electricity and a lack of Western amenities.

Volunteers and staff have the freedom and flexibility to explore some of East Africa's treasures, including safaris on the Serengeti Plain, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, hiking the Ngorongoro Crater, or relaxing on the beaches of Zanzibar Island. Experience Tanzania's diverse indigenous cultures and traditions, distinct wildlife and breathtaking scenery!
There is no program fee to volunteer with IEFT, however candidates are required to cover their travel and living expenses. Stipends are available for qualified applicants.
