FPANJEZ an educational and therapeutic monitoring programme for children with disabilities in Zaruma, notably through art therapy.

Description of volunteer position

The FPANJEZ organisation is currently having difficulties maintaining its current projects and developing new projects. It is hoped that by putting new projects in place, the organisation will be able to improve its activities with the children for whom it already caters. In order to carry out new projects with optimum effect, the foundation requires a long-term plan to determine how its economic and human resources should be managed and also how to boost the financial resources available to the organisation.

Description of the mission :
The volunteer's main objective will be to develop a logical framework which will enable a general view across all of the current activities and programmes as well as those to be put into action in the future. In order to be able to support itself in the long-term, the organisation requires a volunteer with excellent fundraising skills. To assist this mission, the volunteer will be able to visit other organisations which are part of the "Una Opción Mas" ("One More Option") network in Ecuador.
In order to gain a wider view of the activities of FPANJEZ, the volunteer will also participate in the daily activities: caring for the children, organising excursions and educational and recreational activities.

Long-term goals of the foundation with respect to volunteers:
The foundation needs a project manager to plan its activities in the long-term. As such, the volunteer will be responsible for planning new activities and seeking new ways for FPANJEZ to develop, in addition to maintaining and improving those already in place. The volunteer will also be responsible for sourcing funding which will guarantee the continuation of the projects in the long-term.

Fundación FPANJEZ (Barrio Don Bosco, Avenida Doctor Carlos Reyes y Marcelo Zambrano, Zaruma, El Oro)

Sustainability of the objectives of the NGO in relation to the training:
At the end of the volunteer mission, the organisation will have in place a logical framework which will enable it to develop its projects efficiently in the long-term, as well as established links to donors/partners whom will guarantee necessary funds for the long-term development of the organisation.

Candidate profile

Former experiences :
Experience of project conceptualisation and project management, framework development, experience of fundraising with financial donors/partners

Diplomas :
Global development and project management
Business management and social organisations

Level of Spanish:
Intermediate

Required competences and qualities:
Good people skills, excellent communication and knowledge-sharing skills, adaptable personality, good team worker, a talent for relating to people with disabilities.

It may be possible to share lunchtime meals with members of the organisation. The team will assist the volunteer to find their accommodation.
