There are many reasons that visiting a hospital might be stressful--getting lost shouldn't be one of them!

We are looking for friendly, outgoing, dependable volunteers to assist patients and visitors in reaching their destinations within Summa Akron City Hospital. With the many things on the minds of our visitors, it is a great relief to them when they are approached by a smiling volunteer who will guide them all the way to their destination.

Skills:

• Outgoing, Friendly Personality: Must be comfortable approaching visitors and offering assistance. Must be willing to actively look for people to help.
• Proactive Approach to Helping Others
• Ability to Follow and Give Directions

Requirements:

• Escort patients to destination
• Transport patients and guests via wheelchair
• Use computer and patient directory to find patient rooms
• Protect the privacy and confidentiality of all patients and guests

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Moderate walking
• Ability to transport patients in wheelchairs, pushing up to 50 lbs.
