Help improve the living conditions and organise activities for students in Semarang, Indonesia

The volunteer project will be in one of the boarding schools for teenagers in Semarang, hosting about 200 students all together. In this centre, there are senior and junior high school level in which students are studying every day. All students are living in the dormitory.

The volunteers will work together with local students to renovate the dormitory. They will renovate several bedrooms where students are living. Volunteer will refurnish and repaint the dormitory. Volunteers are also expected to have English language activities with the local students by conducting some games, sharing and opened discussion with them.

Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the educational activities for students related with Indonesian culture and customs in general.

Leisure time: During free time, the volunteers will have the chance to visit Semarang city, Samp Poo Kong Chinese Temple, LawangSewu Building and GedongSongo Hindus Temples.

Project dates: January 26 - February 9, 2013

Location: This project will take place in Gunungpati Sub-district, 30 km south from the city centre of Semarang, Central Java Province.
