AmeriCorps Food Pantry Caseworker--Eastern Kentucky

AmeriCorps Members (August 2013-August 2014) needed to serve in Christian Appalachian Project's Grateful Bread food pantry serving low-income families and the elderly in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. Caseworkers greet participants, collect and sort food donations, and organize a monthly commodities distribution. Rockcastle County has a 28% poverty rate.

Receive room and board, a monthly stipend, health insurance, vacation time, an AmeriCorps Education Award of up to $5,550, and potential student loan deferment. Minimum age to volunteer is 18.
