Program Description
Argentina has a number of programs dedicated to promoting various forms of economic sustainability in the countryside, from rural tourism to experimental farming.
In the outskirts of Buenos Aires, a farm is part of this program and has an experimental farm of American Ostriches and a vegetable garden.
It also has a small farmhouse that is being rebuilt in an ecological and environmentally friendly way. The farmhouse is going to be a fair trade market where people from the neighbourhood can bring their goods to be sold.
The awareness of these "sensible productions" is developing through the visits of tourists who travel around the areas and learn about sustainability and fair trade practices.
Volunteer Tasks
- Help plant, water and clean the organic garden.
- Help in the ecological construction of the farm house that will be the "Fair Trade Market".
- Help implement recycling methods and reusing materials.
- Learn about environmental responsibility and implement organic initiatives. New ideas and a desire to build an ecological work are welcome!
Minimum Stay
4 weeks
Availability
All year. Volunteers can work from Monday to Friday in the mornings or the afternoons. Volunteers will live during the week in the house of the project coordinator with his family. On the weekends volunteers can stay or come back to Buenos Aires to get to know the city.
