Nothing is more rewarding than direct client contact by feeding people! Help deliver groceries and fresh meals from the Chicken Soup Brigade kitchen and warehouse to our home-bound clients. Deliver groceries in your neighborhood on your way home from work (there is no need to return to Lifelong when you are done with your route), or become a 'perma-sub' and try a new place each week! Are you unsure if you can commit to a route every week or if food delivery is a good fit for you? We also have an on-call substitute delivery driver email list available for less of a commitment or to try food delivery out for awhile before you commit to a weekly route. We email you, and if you can pick up a shift then simply respond to the email. If not, no worries! Just ignore the email.
Commitment: 1-3 hours per week (approx. 2-8 deliveries per route), most deliveries occur Thursdays 4pm to 7pm but some additional shifts occur at different times and different days of the week, 3 month minimum. Volunteers must be 16 years or older, have a driver's license, and a vehicle with proof of insurance. Volunteers are responsible for paying for gasoline.
