I am looking a professional administrator, accountant or expert in marketing and fundrising to support us at the Don Bosco Vocational Center in Kep, Cambodia.
The project began in October 2011 under my direction. It belongs to the Don Bosco Foundation of Cambodia and it is made to support technical formation to young people from the provinces of Kep, Kampot and Takeo, a rural region with a lack of professional centers for the growing youth population. It is also an area of great poverty, where young people find few opportunities and migrate to the biggest cities or abroad.
The project consists in the construction of the main technical schools: the female hostel, the male hostel, the social communication and journalism school, the secretariat school, the electrical school, the tailoring shop, the hotel school and the IT center.
In this moment we have 100 students in hotel skill, social communication, IT and electricity. It is estimated that by 2015 we are going to reach a number of 300 students.
It is also a children center with activities for children in the evenings like computers, English lessons, sport and there is a children park. The Don Bosco Kep Children Fund is an office to promote children from poverty to go back to school.
There is a staff of 20 persons, mostly teachers. We have also volunteers coming from different organizations or independent.
What we need
- A volunteer to empower the administration process of this big project. He/she can be for at least three months, training the staff on this.
- To coordinate the process of fundrising, because this project is thanks to the support of donors. However, it is necessary more support to finish the constructions, start other constructions, maintenance, running expenses, more students' scholarships, to include more children in our program of the Don Bosco Kep Children Fund and to think in suistanibility.
What we can offer to you
- You can stay inside the school, at the staff house, with a room and meals included. We cannot offer transport from your country to Cambodia and viceversa.
