One More International, Inc. is seeking a dedicated volunteer to work as our pro-bono lawyer. This individual will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance for an organization that will serves muslim communities to overcome poverty & injustice
Responsibilities will include:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal law in regards to:
- contracts and organizational documents
- employment procedures
- organization operations, and
- fundraising requirements
- Providing consultation to executive director regarding best practices for legal compliance
An ideal candidate for this position will have passed their respective state bar, be based in the metropolitan Washington, DC area or the commonwealth of Virginia , have strong organizational skills and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A minimum of 5 years prior experience associated with the non-profit sector is preferred.
This position will require an average of 2 hours a week. Hours can be arranged around volunteer's schedule and most work can be done remotely. However, pro-bono lawyer is required to meet with Executive Director in-person at least once per month. Candidate must be able to commit to at least 3 months of service.
