Lyon-Martin Health Services, San Francisco's world-renowned community health center for women, lesbians and transgender people, is currently seeking energetic, committed people to serve on our board. We are particularly in need of applicants with experience in the fields of event planning, major donor fundraising, FQHC health administration, corporate giving programs, and human resources.
As a potential board member, you have the opportunity to serve on a committee prior to committing to board membership; these include fundraising and communications, compliance, quality assurance, and finance. Once you join the board, you are expected to continue with your committee, attend a monthly board meeting, and stay in contact via email in between. The overall time commitment is about 8-10 hours per month.
Our current roster includes eleven dynamic, skilled and friendly people who are deeply committed to providing high-quality healthcare to those who need it most. We are particularly invested in including the perspectives of trans-identified people and people of color; it is important to us that our board reflect the diversity of the patients we serve! A good sense of humor is a major plus. Clinic users are strongly encouraged to apply.
