Project Live Proud's mission is to help families who are struggling to overcome poverty and the effects of homelessness by providing design that transforms their house into a home they can be proud of. Children are sleeping on floors. Families are living out of plastic bags. Families are eating meals on boxes. Families transitioning from homelessness into housing programs often leave shelters with plastic bags and cannot afford to buy furniture or even basic household items. We want to demonstrate the power of design and show how a well furnished home can help. strengthen their drive for self-sufficiency and encourage them to break the cycle of poverty and the effects of homelessness.

Project Live Proud is seeking a Fundraiser and Event Planner. Must have excellent computer skills, excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and be able to work flexible hours as needed. Virtual assisting is fine. Knowledge of grant writing, marketing, event planning, and fundraising initiatives desired. Knowledge of the architecture and design community (A&D) a plus. This is an unpaid volunteer position with the opportunity to help an organization grow and the ability to gain a lot of experience.

Functions and Major Responsibilities

In this position you will assist PLP with the overall growth of our organization. Specific duties could include:

Fundraising Management –

  • Develop fundraising goals based on annual budget
  • Create fundraising strategies
  • Create a working fundraising database to communicate corporate donations
  • Prepare materials for fundraising efforts
  • Manage prospect, sponsorship, and business information and materials

Fundraising –

  • Researching appropriate funding options via grants and sponsorships
  • Work to increase appropriate donor opportunities (monetary and in-kind donations) and program partners

Event Planning –

  • Assist with even t planning
  • Assist with event production
  • Make phone calls and writing letters/emails relating to fundraising events

Fundraising Committee –

  • Chair the fundraising committee
  • Create and staff membership drive opportunities

Expectations The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail and have a flexible attitude, warm personality and willingness to learn and thrive in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Non Profit Development, Grant writing and Fundraising practices
  • Passionate about our mission and social services' issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player with a positive, professional, can-do attitude
  • Strong attention to detail and care to deliver quality, professional work
  • A flexible self-starter that does not require heavy supervision
  • High level of organization, great time management, and the ability to multi-task
