Non profit organizations provide a unique role in the community that they serve. They perform this role by providing specific services that are part of their mission statement and commitment to others. Usually non profits are able to preform these services by using dedicated volunteers as well as a limited paid staff. However another important factor required in order to keep non profit organizations running smoothly and to carry out their services to the respective community is through fundraising.
Fundraising provides money to improve the quality of life for many people. It also allows organizations to operate that otherwise would not be able to afford to. Fundraising also can bring more public and media attention to your nonprofit, increasing access to potential future donors and funding opportunities. Thus, fundraising is crucial to any non-profit organization.
The D.A.A.N. Foundation is seeking volunteers who are interested in advocating our work and fundraising to help keep ongoing projects running smoothly. Under this project you would advocate our work by taking pictures and making videos, posters and brochures. You can also create a small promotional film or movie clips which you may also share on youtube, facebook and other social networking sites. These projects also require that you involve your friends, family or other people who are connected with development work in our fundraising initiatives. You can also come up with new fund raising ideas and create promotional items, which in turn can be sold to help raise funds for our various projects. Creativity is key! Your goal would be to help raise the appropriate funds to run our two centers, as well as fundraising to support any of the smaller programs running within these centers.
As hard and frustrating as raising funds can be at times, let's not forget the huge impact it can make for generations to come!
Volunteers pay a discounted rate for their room/board and food at the friendly family run Chandra Niwas Guesthouse, or a similar guest house accomodation
The D.A.A.N. Foundation also asks volunteers for a one time donation of 5,000Rs (about $100 USD)
