The Downtown Mesa Association is looking for volunteers to help out with one of the most anticipated events, the Mesa Rocks Block Party! This will be a family friendly music festival FREE to the public and we are expecting around 5,000-8,000 people attending. Therefore, we will need all the help we can get. Volunteer Duties and Instructions:
VIP Area:
- Person 1: Stand at entrance, find person on list and check off. Give 5 drink tickets and one food ticket to each person.
- Person 2: Check I.D. and put wristband on person.
- Person 3: Hand out free Jamba Juice to VIP people at a table. Keep an eye on area and help keep it clean.
Kids Zone:
- Person 1: Supervise the bounce house areas. Make sure that older kids are not going into the younger kids bounce houses. Make sure that kids are not going in with food and are taking off their shoes. General supervision.
- Person 2-4: Engage with kids on various games available in the kids zone.
- Person 5: Keep an eye on any clean up necessary.
Staging Area:
- Person 1: Act as a band runner for any reasonable requests. Make sure water coolers are full and area is clean.
- Person 2: Time keeper, keep an eye on the time and notify bands when they have 20 minutes till stage time.
Jimmy John's Competition:
- Person 1: Sign in competitors, collect $10 from each competitor. Hand out prizes to winners. Group competitors per each round and prepare them to go on stage to compete. Time keeper.
Beer Garden:
- Person 1-10: Pour beer and sit them on table to be handed to patrons
- Person 10-18: Take beer orders, collect money and hand patrons their beer
Vendor Booths:
- Person 1: Site contact for vendors. Take vendor calls and coordinate needs. Check in vendors and make sure space assignments are correct.
Entry/Exit Points:
- Person 1-4: Take guard at each entry/exit point and keep eye out for people leaving with alcohol. Do not allow people to take alcohol out of event.
Press Pass Area:
- Person 1: Check in members of press and photographers, give them a press pass and collect cards. Have them sign agreement.
