The volunteer will assist Presidential Library staff in:
- Docents assist the museum education experience through group learning activities, demonstrations, and community outreach programs
- Visitor Services volunteers work on the museum floor to help orient visitors, answer questions about the museum, and as an ambassador to the museum, ensure that each visitor's experience is enjoyable
- Administrative volunteers provide general office support by answering phones, filing, and completing data entry
- Public Affairs volunteers prepare press packets, assist with special events and media relations, and other duties as assigned
- Substitute volunteers and docents will serve an ad hoc schedule as needed
Requirements:
Due to the sensitive nature of Presidential materials, all volunteers must successfully pass a background check and sign a confidentiality agreement.
- Must be able to make a one-year commitment
- Able to work up to 4 hours per week on a non-paid basis unless serving as a volunteer or docent substitute
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and able to climb ladders
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite programs
- Ability to learn new skills
