The Master in Fashion, Experience & Design Management (MAFED) is 12-month full-time international Program aimed at the culture of result oriented creativity, awareness of the Beautiful, inventiveness, luxury and the way they can successfully interact with strategy, operations and marketing. The Program is run in collaboration with Altagamma, an association of internationally renowned Italian companies operating at the high end of the luxury brand market.
CONTENTS
The structure is strongly cross-disciplinary. SDA Bocconi's strong partnership with business communities ensures the perfect blend of art, craft and science that is the essence of fashion and design.
The MAFED program consists of: general management courses, specialized courses on Fashion, Design & Experience Management, field projects and advanced seminars. Students without a business background may attend pre-courses before the beginning of the program.
Completing the course students will possess a solid understanding of business and marketing planning and control tools being able to apply advanced product, brand, retail management techniques within a fast-moving and global business environment.
PRE-COURSES
For those who do not have a business background the Master starts in November: with Pre-courses, establishing and creating a common managerial platform among participants.
All participants, including those who did not attend Pre-courses, are required to take the Pre-courses exams at the beginning of the Program.
GENERAL MANAGEMENT
From January on, Courses in General Management allow participants to acquire methodological tools, providing an in-depth understanding of the key concepts which every professional should be familiar with in order to manage a company, with a specific focus to fashion and design based companies.
SPECIALIZED COURSES: FASHION, DESIGN & EXPERIENCE MANAGEMENT (January - November)
Specialized courses provide an in-depth understanding of the key managerial processes in fashion and design based companies as well as in those where the purchasing behavior depends on the value of the experience.
FIELD PROJECTS : June - November
Starting from June participants are asked to apply theories learned in class into real life. In company group projects cover several corporate aspects and functions (brand positioning, pricing, entry into new markets, etc.).
SEMINARS
Seminars allow participants to deepen advanced topics and learn state of the art methodologies and tools to deal with them.
Tuition fee details
The total fee for the 2013 edition is € 27.000 (twenty seven thousand), to be paid in four installments:
1st Installment € 8.000 on Confirmation of Admission
2nd Installment € 8.000 within and no later than 16th January 2013
3rd Installment € 5.500 within and no later than 19th March 2013
4th Installment € 5.500 within and no later than 21st May 2013
University Degree (or equivalent) in any discipline.
Candidates from disciplines other than business administration must attend pre-courses in November and December;
International profile with at least two years professional experience;
Italian language instruction. Although the program is conducted mostly in English, participants not fluent in Italian must take an Italian course for beginners during the first part of the program;
Fluency in English. Candidates whose mother tongue is not English are required to submit a TOEFL or IELTS result (*).
Includes two phases:
Phase One
Initial selection. Once your application is complete and reviewed, you will be notified if you have been shortlisted for the selection test or if your application was unsuccessful.
Phase Two
Selection test. Shortlisted candidates are required to take a written test in order to verify personal attitudes and abilities. The test deals with a case analysis and discussion and will be sent to candidates by e-mail.
The selection process takes place throughout the year with the following deadlines:

Test by: September 2012
Final decision: 5 October 2012
Applicants who pass the initial selection but are not admitted to the Program may be included on a waitlist. The waitlist for both application deadlines will be opened in October and further admissions will be communicated through e-mail by 15 October 2012.

The program is tailored for university graduates with at least two years of working experience. You must submit a detailed CV and an official degree certificate (in English or Italian) from the college or university attended. The certificate must show the type of degree, the enrollment dates and the date of graduation. You are also required to submit an original/official or certified original transcript of grades (in English or Italian) from the college or university attended. This must include grades for individual subjects and the grading scale. Applicants who obtained a university degree in Italy must provide a self-declaration of the Degree Certificate and Transcript (form provided by their university). This self-declaration is only for students graduated from Italian universities.
A copy of TOEFL or IELTS results for English language
If English is not your mother language, you must provide a TOEFL or IELTS result to prove your written and spoken English. Results obtained before January 2007 are no longer valid.
