Programa publicado por: Anglia Ruskin University

Publicado el: 27/08/2013

Descripción del programa

A one year graduate degree aimed at the rapidly expanding global market of biotechnology. It focuses on the medical aspects, driven by the increasing knowledge made available from recent developments in genetic and molecular research, centred on genome sequencing.

Cambridge is recognised globally for its excellence in this area at genetic research laboratories such as the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Biomedical Campus (Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge) and Babraham Research Institute.

This course will develop your knowledge and skills within DNA-based techniques and there is a strong emphasis on laboratory skills, with practical assessments, research projects and field trips. You will be exposed to current and future applications of medical biotechnology. Student-led class debates surrounding professional and ethical topics are a feature of this degree.

Assessment includes written, oral and reflective coursework, formal examinations and case study reports. The option exists to complete intermediate awards, which do not require completion of the Masters project (PG Cert and PG Dip Biotechnology). Each module is also available as a stand-alone module for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
