Teaching for Change is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization that promotes social change through public education. Our mission is to provide teachers and parents with the tools to create schools where students learn to read, write, and change the world. We accomplish our mission through:

  • Professional development, with our Early Childhood Equity Initiative and curriculum development around Civil Rights teaching;
  • Publications, through our bookstore at Busboys and Poets, webstore, and our own publications; and
  • Parent Power, using a unique approach to building grassroots multiracial parent power in school communities.
