Southside United HDFC is a local nonprofit based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and has been involved in the development and preservation of affordable housing in the neighborhood for 40 years. Our organization also maintains an active Social Services Unit, which employs a non-traditional community-based approach to assisting formerly homeless tenants as well as all local residents. Over the past year, we have serviced about 6,000 low-income families through our Food Pantry Program, which continues to grow and now features an innovative hydroponic farm. We also operate a Senior Center where about 80 seniors per day go for lunch and social recreation.
