Nonprofit (Boston): Share Our Strength's Cooking Matters MA

Share Our Strength's Cooking Matters™ teaches families at risk of hunger that healthy cooking can be delicious, enjoyable – and most important – affordable. Through hands-on classes taught by volunteer culinary and nutrition experts, course participants learn how to select nutritious and low-cost ingredients and prepare them in ways that provide the best nourishment possible to their families. In short, they learn how to make the most of what they've got. Cooking Matters is nationally sponsored by the ConAgra Foods® Foundation and Walmart, and reaches more than 11,000 families each year.

Today, eighty-five percent of Cooking Matters participants graduate from our courses, taking with them the improved nutrition practices, eating habits, and cooking and food budgeting skills they learned in Cooking Matters classes.
