PAIR: Partnership for the Advancement & Immersion of Refugees improves the lives of refugee youth through mentoring, tutoring, and college access programs. Founded in January of 2007, PAIR has quickly assembled a network of committed volunteers and partnering organizations to assist young refugees in our community in achieving cultural inclusion, academic success, and self-reliance. By connecting them with successful college students and other committed volunteers PAIR encourages learning, fosters academic success, and promotes higher education. PAIR is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young refugees by expanding their educational opportunities.
PAIR has created an environment that informs and inspires young refugee students facing challenging cultural and educational adjustments in the United States. In addition to serving as an important resource for refugees in Houston, PAIR has given hundreds of volunteers the opportunity to connect with people from diverse cultures and contribute to the Houston community in ways they never thought possible.
