Community Access Plus is a non-profit organization providing Vocational Rehabilitation/Supported Employment services to developmentally challenged adults. Our Mission is to assist individuals with developmental disabilities, obtain and maintain employment in their community. The employment aims to provide the individuals with structure and supplemental income, to help them increase their self-esteem and enable them to enhance their quality of life.
In June 2010, we established the Heart in Motion Project, a community service group for youths who are passionate about helping others. HIM's goal is to provide volunteer opportunities that are fun and rewarding. It is our hope that our youths' dedication to serve their community keeps growing and becomes a way of life for them. Since our inception, Heart in Motion has reached over 1,000 members and contributed 27,523 hours of community service. Our members come from 31 schools in the Bay Area. HIM is run by the students and it's adult volunteers.
Heart in Motion Goals:
To provide volunteer opportunities that are both fun and rewarding
To nurture youths' passion in serving the community
To act as a bridge for students from different schools to come together and work for a common goal
