Descripción

The North Star Fund is a member foundation of the Funding Exchange, a national partnership of activists and donors dedicated to progressive social change. Through our funding programs in New York City, we seek to contribute to a transformed society by:

  • An equitable distribution of wealth and resources, both within and beyond our national boundaries;
  • The realization of a democratic process through the exercise of political power by historically disempowered peoples and communities;
  • The well-being of people and the environment placed above profit;
  • An end to oppression and exploitation of people everywhere;
  • Peaceful and just settlements of conflict;
  • Freedom from institutional, cultural, and economic discrimination based on class, race, gender, age, disability, religion, or sexual orientation;
  • An affirmation of diversity, and respect for the dignity and inherent value of all individuals.
