Ethical Culture is a humanist organization founded by Felix Adler in 1876. At the core of its philosophy is a belief in the worth and dignity of each individual. Through the practice of its beliefs, and by engaging in education and social action, Ethical Culture strives to create a more humane society.
The Riverdale-Yonkers Society for Ethical Culture, founded in 1948, engages in projects and activities which benefit our neighbors in need as well as aids communities around the world. Here, as in most Ethical Societies, members and friends gather at the Sunday Platform to hear talks on issues ranging from global warming to community gardens and to participate in events and festivals. Our Society strives to be a warm and welcoming place where all are welcome and all are encouraged to become actively involved in the life of the community.
