Get On The Bus mobilizes communities across California to improve the lives of women, children and families affected by the criminal justice system. Get On The Bus provides free transportation and a day filled with activities and remembrances for hundreds of children to visit parents in prison on the Fridays before Mother's Day and Father's Day.

Get On The Bus is a one of three programs provided by Women and Criminal Justice in its efforts to reform the current prison system based on restorative justice principles. In addition to developing, managing and promoting the annual events, the Program Director guides and builds a strong grassroots organization with hundreds of people working together to fund and fill buses with children and caregivers visiting parents in prison and to create a powerful voice for change.
