Based at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and led by Prof. J. Gregory Dees, the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE) is a research and education center dedicated to promoting the entrepreneurial pursuit of social impact through the thoughtful adaptation of business expertise. A recognized leader in the field of social entrepreneurship, CASE provides individuals and organizations with the knowledge and skills they need to address social needs effectively.
CASE provides courses, service-learning opportunities, speakers, career planning support, and financial aid for Duke MBA students. We are proud to offer competitive $25,000 scholarships to outstanding students who intend to pursue careers in the social sector (http://www.caseatduke.org/mba/financialaid/ ).
We also offer a special fellowship to qualifying returned Peace Corps volunteers who agree to undertake significant community service during the time they are enrolled in The Duke MBA-Daytime program (see http://www.DukeMBArpcvs.org ).
Since CASE was founded at Duke University in 2002, student initiative has been integral to its growth and success. Students spearhead new activities, identify and invite guest speakers to campus, provide input on course and program development, engage in the community, interact with prospective students, and help develop networks of students and alumni interested in using their business skills for social purposes. Learn about CASE student programs at http://www.caseatduke.org/mba/ .
CASE develops and disseminates practical knowledge on the concept and process of social entrepreneurship, economic strategies for social impact, scaling social impact, and entrepreneurial philanthropy. The CASE website includes resources on these topics, as well as links to other helpful websites. Learn more about our research on scaling impact at http://www.scalingsocialimpact.org .
