Carpets for Communities' mission is to make education possible for vulnerable Cambodian children and to empower their mothers with life skills and secure incomes through the production and sale of high-quality, one-of-a-kind, hand-hooked carpets.

Carpets for Communities adopts practical and empowering approaches to achieve our goals of increasing the level of school enrolment and reducing the level of child labour in an aim to stop the cycle of poverty.

By empowering mothers to send their children to school through the production and sale of one-of-a-kind, hand-hooked carpets, we aim to improve the livelihoods of the poor in Poipet Commune and to help them break through the poverty cycle.

There are four key areas that Carpets for Communities focus on in order to achieve our goals.

  1. Empowering women to support their families
  2. Increasing levels of school enrolment and attendance
  3. Reducing the number of children at risk of trafficking, exploitation and other dangers
  4. Investing in the development of the Poipet Commune
