Humanity in Action (HIA) is a unique international fellowship program dedicated to democratic values and minority and human rights.
Building from a university fellowship program, Humanity in Action seeks to create an enduring community dedicated to the advancement of human rights. Since its founding in 1999, HIA has engaged more than 750 outstanding university students from nine countries in its core fellowship and helped to prepare them for a life-long commitment to civic responsibility and the protection of human rights. HIA's international community is a living legacy: honoring those who protected democratic values in the past and nurturing those who will resist violations of human rights in the present and future.

HIA works with students and young professionals in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
