Hospitalito Atitlan is a small independent non-profit hospital that serves a population of 43,000 Tz'utujil speaking indigenous Maya on the southern shore of beautiful Lake Atitlán. Non medical and medical volunteers (OB/GYNs, MDs, NPs, PAs, CNMs and RNs) are needed on a rolling basis to assist local staff in providing expert care for this remote community.
The Hospitalito is staffed by local Guatemalan family physicians, nurses, and administrative staff who collaborate with international volunteer medical personnel to provide a comprehensive scope of care. This scope includes the only 24/7 emergency and surgical obstetrical care within a 2-hour radius.
