TARA National Association for Personality Disorder is a small, nonprofit organization that focuses on education and advocacy for Borderline Personality Disorder and other personality disorders. Established in 1995, we are funded by donations from family members and membership fees as well as through fees for our family psycho-educational programs. We operate a helpline, which provides information and referrals to callers. We also participate in professional conferences, nationally and internationally, where we educate professionals on the efficacy of training families and on reducing stigma against the person with the disorder and their family. Our aim is to broaden the awareness of personality disorders through understanding of their neurobiological and genetic bases.
