Palestine Works is a new US-based nonprofit founded by diaspora Palestinians to promote Palestinian human development.
Our vision is a Palestinian society that can enjoy the improved prospects and economic, social and political benefits of a strong economy, one powered by the development and deployment of Palestinian human capital.
Our mission is to help realize this vision by engaging, developing and harnessing the expertise of young professionals by giving them access to high-impact knowledge transfer opportunities, including internships, conferences, publications and networking.
The Law Fellowship harnesses the talent and passion of law students and recent law graduates to support the work of human rights and human development organizations serving Palestinians in the Occupied Territory and Palestinian citizens of Israel.
We recruit qualified and committed Law Fellows for summer internships with our 20 partner organizations in Palestine and Israel. We help our partners make the most of our Law Fellows by ensuring that the internship is well-planned, the Fellow is well-prepared, and the Fellow's work is well-supervised. We also enhance the internship experience with an orientation conference, weekend and evening programs, and networking events throughout the summer.
Our Law Fellows commit to continue working for the rights of Palestinians beyond their internships through legacy projects, which include academic writing and conferences, advocacy and outreach, and creative endeavors.
Our 2014 class of 23 Law Fellows volunteered over 9,000 hours of legal and advocacy work to our partner organizations and the Palestinian communities they serve.
Law students and recent law graduates can apply to the Law Fellowship through PSJD, through Symplicity at most law schools, or by sending a resume, cover letter, writing sample (10 pages or less) and unofficial law school transcript (including courses in progress) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Any questions regarding the Law Fellowship or the application process should be directed to email@example.com.
